Staff and Board Volunteering

CUA is proud to have a team of staff and Board of Directors that is equally committed to supporting and caring for our community through their personal volunteer dedication. In 2014, CUA’s Board collectively contributed over 1,200 hours of volunteer service within the local community.

Staff volunteers collectively spend over 120 hours each year delivering financial education sessions on behalf of CUA within the community to classrooms and groups, beyond their personal volunteering commitments. In addition, 100% of CUA’s staff participated in the company-wide United Way donation campaign, raising a total of $10,000 to support the United Way’s Community Fund.

Light the Night Walk

CUA is proud to have supported The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada's Light The Night Walk on October 21, 2017.  The annual walk raises funds and awareness in support of the more than 138,000 Canadians affected by blood cancer.  Each participant carries an illuminated lantern: red for supporters, white for patient and survivors and gold for loved ones lost.

In 2016, Marie Mullally, President and CEO of CUA, participated in the event for the first time by joining a team alongside Donna Harding, Real Estate Broker and member of CUA's Board of Directors.  "It was my first time participating in this event on behalf of CUA," said Mullally, recalling a highlight from the evening.  "As we walked along South Street, white lanterns could be seen waving from the windows of the IWK.  It was a very touching moment that spoke directly to the impact our efforts had on patients, their families and the broader community.
