Terms and Conditions




Subject to the terms and conditions set out herein, you may elect receive a cash bonus offer of $300 (each, a “Reward”), provided you fulfill the Eligibility Criteria.

  1. “Credit Union” means CUA (Credit Union Atlantic);
  2. “Credit Union Employee” means any employee of CUA and/or a member of the board of directors of CUA;
  3. “Eligibility Criteria” means the criteria and conditions described in Section 3;
  4. “Eligibility Period” means the three (3) month period following the date the Eligible Member opens the Eligible Account;
  5. “Eligible Account” means any of the following Personal Chequing Accounts: myChequing Plus, myChequing Unlimited, myChequing Unlimited Plus, and myeChequing.
  6. “Eligible Member” means a member of CUA who meets all of the following criteria:
    1.  a Canadian resident;
    2. is of the age of majority in the province or territory where they reside as of December 31, 2021; or, if the member is not of the age of majority, their parent or legal guardian consents to these Terms as of December 31, 2021;
    3. is a new Credit Union member and does not have an existing Personal Banking Account with the Credit Union;
    4. is not a Credit Union Employee;
    5. meets minimum requirements for opening a chequing account.
  7.  “Personal Banking Account” means a personal chequing account.
  8. “Promotional Offer” means the offer described in Section 1 of these Terms;
  9. “Promotional Period” means the period beginning on October 12 and ending at 11:59 PM AST on December 31, 2021;
  10. “Reward” has the meaning ascribed to it in Section 1 of these Terms;
  11. “Terms” means these terms and conditions governing the Promotional Offer;
  12. “you” and “your” means any Eligible Member;
  13. “we”, “us” and “our” means Credit Union Atlantic Ltd.
To qualify for the Promotional Offer, you must:
  1. open an Eligible Account during the Promotional Period;
  2. activate a second product during the Eligibility period, including but not limited to savings account, credit card, loan, line of credit or mortgage;
  3. Set up at least one (1) recurring direct deposit to your new Eligible Account or set up at least one (1) pre-authorized monthly payment from your Eligible Account by the end of the Eligibility Period, noting that a CUA loan cannot qualify as the pre-authorized monthly debit.
The Promotional Offer is subject to the following conditions:
  1. Only one (1) Reward per Eligible Member, regardless of the number of Eligible Accounts opened during the Promotional Period;
  2. Only one (1) Reward per Eligible Account, even if the Eligible Account is opened jointly and the Eligibility Criteria is satisfied by more than one account holder; 
  3. If you receive the Reward and then close your Eligible Account or undo any of the Eligibility Criteria performed to receive the Reward at any time prior to December 31, 2022, we reserve the right to either (i) debit your Eligible Account or any of your accounts with us for the value of the Reward (being $300.00) even if this places your account into overdraft; or (ii) invoice you for the value of the Reward (being $300.00), which you agree to pay within thirty (30) days from the date of the invoice;
  4. In order to receive the Reward, you must have a valid phone number and email associated with the Eligible Account by the end of the Eligibility Period. Following the end of the Eligibility Period, we will contact you within thirty (30) days at this email or phone number if we have determined, in our sole discretion, that you have fulfilled the Eligibility Criteria and are eligible to receive the Reward;
  5. We reserve the right to change the Promotional Offer and these Terms at any time. The post of the current Terms at cua.com/reward shall be deemed sufficient notice to you of such Terms.
  6. We reserve the right to cancel the Promotional Offer at any time for any reason at our complete discretion without notice.
  7. The offer cannot be combined with any other promotional offer on CUA day-to-day chequing accounts, including but not limited the Member Referral Program, waived account package fees, etc.
  8. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the content of any document, advertising, or promotional material with respect to the Promotional Offer, these Terms shall prevail.
  9. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to suspend, disqualify, limit or revoke this Promotional Offer to any person or account holder we find or believe to be manipulating or otherwise abusing the process, fairness, integrity or operation of the Promotional Offer, including any person whose overall client relationship with us is, in our opinion, not in good standing.
