CUA to open new banking branch in Spryfield

(Halifax, NS) August 28, 2018 – Halifax-based CUA today announced the upcoming opening of its newest branch in Spryfield, Nova Scotia.  The 1,300 square foot branch will be located in the recently renovated professional centre at 349 Herring Cove Road, and is scheduled to open on October 1.  This opening will mark CUA’s eighth branch location within Metro Halifax.

A full-service banking institution, CUA provides chequing and savings accounts, mortgage products, loans and lines of credit, credit cards and investments to 20,000 customers.  According to President and CEO Marie Mullally, CUA has seen increasing membership from residents and businesses of Spryfield who were looking for a new banking option.

“This was the perfect place for our newest branch,” shared Mullally during the on-site announcement earlier today. “We’ve been excited about the developments happening here – Spryfield is a vibrant and growing community and we’re looking forward to giving residents access to the flexible, personalized banking services they deserve.”

Branch Manager Mike Caron noted he’s counting the days until he can open CUA’s doors in the community he calls home. “The people who live, work and run businesses here are hard-working and focused on making progress,” he said. “We’re excited to roll up our sleeves and be part of the work already underway.”

This news comes less than a year after CUA announced a major partnership with Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia.  During the Habitat-led holiday event on Drysdale Road in Spryfield, CUA committed in excess of $100,000 to support the organization’s work in affordable housing, financial literacy and home ownership.
