On April 30, 2024, CUA held its Annual General Meeting (AGM). This event was a wonderful opportunity for members to learn of our accomplishments in 2023 and our plans for 2024. The theme of this event was CUA’s Core Values, focusing on the four values that guide our interactions with members, with each other and the broader community: Integrity, Caring, Accountability and Thinking Big.

During the event our Board Chair, Donna Harding, delivered the Chair Report as well as the Report on the Board Nomination and Election Process. Our President and CEO, Marie Mullally, offered her CEO’s Report, which included a Year in Review of 2023, an assessment of initial results for our 2023-2027 Strategic Plan and a look at the key priorities for 2024.

We are pleased to share that Board members Mike Casey, Carrie Cussons and Andrew Inch were all approved for another three-year term during the meeting. We also welcomed new Board member Don Bureaux, President of Nova Scotia Community College. Additionally, we said goodbye to Louise Adongo, who has served the maximum nine years on the Board. We sincerely thank Louise for her commitment and leadership since she joined the Board in 2015.

Attendees were entered into a giveaway for a gift basket consisting of $250 worth of prizes from Jennifer’s of Nova Scotia, one of CUA’s small business members. A big thank you to all of our members who attended. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
