Celebrating Small Businesses and Digital Banking Upgrades
At CUA, we recognize the vital role of Nova Scotian-based businesses, and their importance has been emphasized by the Provincial government’s Nova Scotia Loyal program. CBC recently reported that Canadians are purchasing more Canadian-made products than ever in light of tariff and trade challenges that started earlier this year. With October marking Small Business Month, I want to acknowledge our business members and the significant role they play in our communities.
As part of our focus on Nova Scotian-owned businesses this month, and as the Halifax Chamber of Commerce Affinity Partner for banking, I’d like to remind you that CUA offers access to flexible banking solutions and preferred rates to members of the Chamber. If you don’t already know, as a member of the Chamber you can receive cost-saving benefits, preferred rates, networking opportunities, and the chance to strengthen your voice in the Halifax business community. Learn more about our exclusive banking benefits for Halifax Chamber of Commerce members and stay up to date on Small Business Month news and events.
This month, we also have an upgrade occurring on our Digital Banking Systems, which consists of online banking and the mobile app. Key changes include added security measure with Multi-Factor Authentication requited at login, a password reveal feature to make your login process easier, and members who use Aviso Wealth will be able to see full details of their investment portfolio by connecting to their accounts. For more information on the upgrade, including Q+As and Member Instruction Guides, please visit the online and mobile banking resources page on our website.
In recognition of our amazing members, we have our annual Member Appreciation Day coming up on November 6, 2025. Each year, we recognize our members with exciting giveaways and in-branch celebrations, including a $1,000 grand prize. This year, we are adding a new element: the CUA Community Appreciation Award, which will acknowledge the work of a member who is a community leader who demonstrates innovation and resilience while making a tangible difference in shaping our community and Province. I’ll be sharing our inaugural Award recipient in my November message. In the meantime, be sure to get your ballots in before our Member Appreciation Day to enter for a variety of prizes at cua.com/members.
As always, if you would like to know about our banking options or if you have questions about any other financial matters, please reach out to a member of our team at 902.492.6500, or email us at info@cua.com.
