Our Commitment to Students, Members and Community

A big part of improving your financial well-being is being willing to ask questions and have conversations about money with friends, family and trusted financial advisors. Whether the topic is budgeting, saving, investing, or managing debt, everyone approaches their finances differently, and there is always value in learning from others and seeking advice.
At CUA, we are committed to student success, and in this month's CUAdvice article, 20 Questions for Student Finances, we share conversation starters designed to help students better understand their financial health. The cost of being a student often goes well beyond tuition fees and textbook prices. For many, post-secondary education is also the first step toward financial independence, requiring students to balance rent, groceries, transportation, and other living expenses alongside their academic commitments.
We want students to build confidence in their future by understanding their current financial situation and developing habits that will serve them well long after graduation. Small steps taken today can make a big difference in their finances tomorrow. If you're a student and are unsure where to start, reach out to a member of our team for help with financial planning and advice tailored directly to your needs. We are here to help.
For us at CUA, supporting our student communities goes beyond providing financial advice. It also means showing up where our members are, creating opportunities to connect and helping students start the school year on the right foot.
Our Better Way Street Team recently wrapped up the campus tour portion of the $10K in a Day Program. The Street Team visited seven campuses to meet students, hand out school supplies and give out $500 to a lucky student at each campus. And we’re not done yet – there’s still time to enter the online draw. Today is your last chance to enter online to win a $1,000 tuition prize. The ballot will close at 11:59 pm AST tonight.
Another important way we support our members is by listening to their feedback. Our Annual Member Survey will be available beginning September 23rd and running until October 14th. As an owner of CUA, your voice matters, and your feedback has a meaningful impact on our priorities and initiatives. As an extra bonus, members who complete the Survey will be entered into a draw for $1,000. Thank you.
Enjoy the final days of summer! And to our student members, I wish you the very best of luck in the upcoming academic year, and hope it is a year filled with learning, growth and exploring opportunities.
As always, if you have any questions related to student finances, the Annual Member Survey or any other financial matters, please reach out to a member of our team at 902.492.6500, book an appointment online or email us at info@cua.com.
