October 2025 New Features for Online and Mobile Banking System

What is CGI Digital Banking?

CGI Digital Banking is the name of our online and mobile banking system.  CGI, the vendor of CUA’s system, is a global IT firm with a 50-year history. They have over 400 locations worldwide and employ more than 91,000 professionals. They have the resources and specialized skills required to not just support CUA and its members but to proactively anticipate our needs, make continual improvements and respond quickly when needed.

One of the unique things about CGI is that they prioritize innovation based on the needs of their clients. In fact, CGI has already proven their commitment to service excellence, making the necessary investments and collaboration over the past year with some of the upgrades and enhancements they have made to the system, a few of which were requested by our own CUA members.

What are the new features?

On October 29, 2025, the following changes will be implemented in the system in response to client feedback:

  • Multi-Factor Authentication: To further protect members’ accounts, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is being introduced at login. This is an added layer of security that helps ensure only you, or a person you have authorized, can access your digital banking. This is a simple step that occurs when you log in to your account to protect against unauthorized access.  Once you have enrolled in MFA, this will only take a few seconds to complete each time you log in. It is an easy way to protect your money and information. Cybercrime in Canada has nearly tripled over the past two years, making it more important than ever to have strong digital protections. The majority of Canadian banks also require MFA at login, and by implementing it, CUA is aligning with industry standard and reflects our commitment to protecting you and your money.
  • Aviso Integration: An exciting new wealth management feature will allow you to see your Aviso investment accounts directly within online and mobile banking. You’ll have seamless access to view your portfolio, including account balances, recent transactions and investment details in a single location. You’ll be able to link multiple Aviso products, including Aviso Wealth, Qtrade Investor and Qtrade Guided Portfolios using your Aviso Client ID.
  • Reveal Password Button: A reveal password button will give you the option to see the password that you’ve typed on the login screen. By clicking the small eye icon next to the password box, you’ll be able to confirm that you’ve entered your password correctly. This saves time and streamlines the login process as it reduces multiple failed login attempts.

What are the upcoming features?

There are also some upcoming improvements planned for 2026 that CUA members can look forward to. Here are a few to anticipate:

  • Integration with Collabria, so that members can view their Collabria credit card details directly within online banking.
  • Access to year-end tax documents directly through online banking.
