Annual General Meeting

On April 29, 2025, CUA held its Annual General Meeting (AGM). This event was a great opportunity for members to hear about our successes in 2024 and our plans for 2025. The theme of this event was Defining Success; how success is uniquely defined by each individual, it's meaning can evolve over time, and that in most cases, the journey and learning that occurs along the way is equally as important as the end result.

During the event our Board Chair, Jay Aird, delivered the Chair Report as well as the Report on the Board Nomination and Election Process. Our President & CEO, Marie Mullally, summarized her CEO’s Report, which included a Year in Review of 2024, an overview of the IT Initiative (CUA's transition to a new digital / IT ecosystem) and a look at the key priorities for 2025. Vice President, Corporate Services, Jenn Abbey, presented the 2024 audited financial statements.

We are pleased to share that Board members Joyce Carter and Malcolm Fraser were both approved for another three-year term during the meeting. We also welcomed new Board member Christine Hanson, Regional Director for North America of NATO's Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA). Additionally, we said goodbye to Donna Harding, who has served the maximum nine years on the Board, and served terms as both Chair and Vice Chair. We sincerely thank Donna for her leadership and dedication to CUA since she joined the Board in 2016.

Attendees were entered into a giveaway for a gift basket consisting of $250 worth of prizes from Made in the Maritimes, one of CUA’s small business members. A big thank you to all of our members who attended, asked thoughtful questions and raised insightful points. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
